Ok, so here’s the backstory.  Lithuanians love Zappa!  In 1995 a bust of the man was placed in the Vilnius city center.  Recently some Lithuanians decided to bestow the city of Baltimore, birthplace of the musician, with a matching bust.  It will be dedicated on September 19, the 15th anniversary of Zappa’s testimony on Capitol […]

ILSSA

I also received my (letterpressed!) ILSSA membership materials back in June.  So fun!

I went away for the summer and now that I’m back I can’t wait to get more involved with their projects.

This is a resource library, kept on paper.  I’m still deciding which of my favorite resources I’d like to submit.

Museum of Printing

It’s about time I caught you up on what I’ve been up to this summer!  In June, I headed to Massachusetts with Julia and Leslie for a class with Vandercook guru Paul Moxon at the Museum of Printing in North Andover.  The topic was “Letterpress Finesse,” so we messed around with makeready, ink additives, paper […]

The book is part of Moving Parts, a collaboration between CityDance Ensemble and Pyramid Atlantic Art Center.  I was one of 10 artists asked to produce an edition of 50 miniature artist books inspired by CityDance’s last season.  Limited edition […]

I’ve expanded my class offerings at Pyramid Atlantic for Winter 2010.  Check ‘em out or register here!

About a year ago I was invited to participate in a large-scale collaborative project between Pyramid Atlantic Art Center and CityDance Ensemble, our area’s most fascinating modern (and sometimes ballet) dance company.  10 visual artists (including me) were asked to attend CityDance performances and get to know their performers and their work, and then produce […]

I organized a limited edition letterpressed calendar as a fundraiser for Pyramid Atlantic, and they’re for sale now in my shop! 15 of Pyramid’s letterpress crew designed and printed letterpress pages for the calendar and each month looks great!  It was an adventure getting this done in 3 months.
Here’s Melanie’s (aka February’s) take on the […]

Winter Projects

I had a busy winter, but mostly focused on custom work and travel.  Here are some highlights:
A hand-set poem by Denise Levertov:

I’m in the middle of 4 artists’ books so I’ll […]
